Over the past few weeks I been planning to redo my network. Goals include replacing aging hardware, simplifying the network, and reducing PC I use as firewalls with appliances.
One of the things I am taking a look at is converting a cheap router into a powerful one. I have several that dd-wrt supports, but a recent sale at Fry's for the same model I have sealed the deal. Because I am familiar with it and it was reasonably priced.
The router is the Cisco Linksys WRT310N.
These series of article documents how I configured the router and my adventures with it.
This would fit a blog format, but I already have a blog and would rather try something new and different. So I am puttying these documents in a drupal book instead.
