Minivan Brake and Wheel Maintenance

My buddy Rob helped me (ok he did all the work) today with my Odyssey mini-van.

Brakes were kind of slipping at slow speeds. I diagnosed it correctly as a warped brake rotors.

You can’t tell in this pic, but they are warped, ever so slightly.

We rotated the tire while it was up and the rotors seem to catch the brake pad.

Here is the new one being installed

We had a little issue with the screws, but it was OK once installed.

The van brakes much smoother.

On another note, we looked at the tires.

Rob taught me of the new way to check if the tire needs to be replaced. If that line there matches the thread, it is time to replace.

Here is a closer shot

We got quite a bit of life left in the wheels.

This is just the front though, rear looks like it may need to be replaced sooner.

But based on the wear, I should not have to worry about brakes or tires for at least 2 or 3 more years.

The battery is next.

Another thing I did was purchase a purpose built device that reboots my cable modem when it looses connectivity.

It cost about $70.00 I was wondering if the cheaper plugs that go around $20 can be modified to do what I need.

So I purchased a pair.

Will do a detailed review in a week.

Hitting the gym for a workout.
