My new machine is up. I recall reading an article earlier this year that MS will not support running Windows 7 on a skylake processor. Sure enough something about Skylake that prevented me from installing Windows 7.
First thing was the mouse and keyboard, it stopped working, luckily the BIOS had a setting that allowed the mouse and keyboard to work. It would also work if I used a PS2 keyboard and mouse.
Then it would not recognize my USB so I could not do a USB install, so I had to burn a CD. Originally I thought it was a storage driver, but after reading the details it was the USB.
At least I got Windows 7 installed on the smaller hard drive.
