Back home now, it was a fun weekend and a needed diversion from the sad events earlier this week.
This final day I attended to sessions, one on Raspberry Pi GPIO ports and another on setting up a minecraft server.
The RPi session was good, but it did conjure up thoughts about my new pandaboard
Here is a pic of the box new pandaboard I got
Inside it came in an antistaic ziplock bag
The back there were comparible ports to a Raspberry Pi, but there were two video ports, one DVI and one HDMI (altough both were HDMI type ports) and I think one of the 3.5mm ports is a mic.
Like the RPi it had a port for an SD card
Its also interesting that was an RS232 serial port as well
Although there were no GPIO ports (altough I could have simply not seen it), this board seems way more for a hardware hacker than an Rpi, it has a power button, reset, jtag and it is a dual core. It is larger but it is faster than an Rpi
The minecraft session was full. I was surprised also all of my kids attended the minecraft server session, the presentor did seem experienced but was not prepared for such a large group. I think he was going to do a smaller more interactive session then a presentation.
Gonna hit some pushups and situps. Tomorrow I restart my training.
