I did it, comcast will not be my provider of television in a few weeks. Just need to validate my setup and see how many TV’s I can push with this Antenna.
I decided on the Channel Master Metrotenna (Sounds Windows 8ish) 4420MHD.
This antenna came with a mount.
Set was easy, if I had all the tools with me from unbox to setup it would have taken less than 30 minutes.
Getting it setup was easy compared to running the wire, I would say 50% of the time I took was running the wire.
When I was done it found 32 channels, and this was with the antenna sitting in the living room 1st floor and a guess of the direction where I should point the antenna.
I quick look and it had the channels I wanted, ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX, there were others that were familiar like PBS and RTV. I am sure there were more.
So here is the final price
It was 65.69 with tax, at one time that was less then a month’s Comcast bill, but remember, although some of the justification to do this was to reduce my bill (to nothing per month) , but to have the freedom to use my on HTPC.
Finally note the time I purchased this, it was 8:11:57, if you look the post date of this blog its says 11:50 something, but it did not take me nearly four hours to set this up, for one thing, my blog is actually 1 hour advanced so it is actually nearly 11, also I had to drive home, look for cables, take the photos and type up this blog, so I would say it actually took less than 2 hours.
I did hit the gym today, burned over 260 calories on the elliptical and benched the max on the machine.
