Boy I am rocking now… ran a 1 lap and walked a lap on a supposedly “rest” day
Time: 9:49:00
This is the kind of performance that motivates me so much… I pushed it pretty hard. Now I get to put these numbers through some thought.
At this pace, and if you consider a lap 1.1 miles (google says it is 1.15) then my 1 mile is down do 8 minutes 55.45 seconds. At this rate, I can pass the run portion of the Army PT test, if I can sustain it for 2 miles. The plus is that it will be on flat ground and I have several more months to train.
A 5k is about 3.107 miles, if I can maintain this pace I will run the 5k in 27 minutes 43 seconds. So to reach 25 minutes, I have to cut 2 minutes 43 seconds off my time or 54.3 seconds per mile, or put it simply an 8 minute mile.
This pace will clock me in at 129 minutes for the half marathon, so I got a way to go, but oh so close.
So it still remains 7.5 miles per hour is the goal put another way… an 8 minute mile. Or my 1 lap in 8 minutes 48 seconds.
Losing weight will help a lot too… I think dropping to 220 will be key.
