Recall that one of the reasons I decided to get healthy was my struggle up a hill in Hawaii. Today I got a chance to hike up another steeper hill. It was challenging but it did not kick my butt, considerably steeper but not much longer.
We started the hike at about 10:50AM, it did not seem steep at all, soon I got to the 1/4 mark, I though is it 1/4 more or did I only travel 1/4 yet. Already seemed far.
It is difficult to capture how steep a hill is, but you can kind of tell by this shot that it was pretty steep. Note the angle of the trees.
I handmade sign also shows the dangers around this hike. It was really steep.
I accidentally deleted the 1/4 marker picture and completely missed the 1/2 marker but I did catch the 3/4 marker. Bad news is that it would get worse before it got better.
Finally reached the top of the climb, I scrubbed the EXIF data of this image but the original photo said 12:11PM, so it looks like the climb was done in 1 hour 21 minutes, the information on the desk at the top said the climb is 2.9 Kilometers. The entire hike felt like a long leg press workout.
Once at the top I noticed this sign. <sarcasm>Oh I was so disappointed</sarcasm>
So it looks like I had to take the tram down. It was the plan anyway since my knees may have gotten injured on the way down.
There you have it, another demon confronted. I would do this hike again but this is way up in Vancouver BC which is over 100 miles from home. If I leaved nearby, doing this would be OK once a week. This may inspire me to look for a site near my place in Seattle.
No run, no time… no scale no weigh in.
Not sure what is up for tonight, either fireworks or night market. I kind of want both. I think fireworks tonight and night market tomorrow should do it.
