Today was a big day, it is the first time a ran the Seattle Half Marathon.
Picture is blurry because not only was it dark, but my lens was wet.
I thought I was going to do better than what I ran, my first hour I was doing a 5MPH pace, not great but that is what I expected, then right after the half mile mark I cramped… it was BAD, it was my toes and I had to stop.
I tried several ways to stretch it out, in the end I just pushed through it. I think I was cramping because it was cold. Also I had more clothes than usual so I certainly was sweating more.
Getting there was a pain, I parked quite a distance and that was a mistake, because I was so exhausted in the end. The haul back to my car added to the misery.
Another gripe is that we had to checking out gear at the back of the bleachers, not bad when you first check in, but when you get back, climbing up those bleachers is just cruel. I think it is intentional.
From mile 7 to 11, which is about the time I started cramping, it felt like the run was all uphill. I had to walk, the cramping was bad.
I am disappointed with my time, but I did make a deal with myself, if I finish under 3 hours, I will not have to run Mercer Half.
Photo is bad, but it does say my chip time 2:58:57
At least I know my weakpoints, AND the goal of this marathon was to force myself to keep working out, which it did.
I did lose some weight today, was 265 before the run
Weight: 260.2
