I have used crash carts at work where you have a Keyboard Video and mouse on a cart that you wheel around to different servers.
I am taking that concept and putting together a crash case. All the parts are coming in right now, but here are the goals
- Portable 1080P monitor, can be powered by a power bank but instead will be powered by a plugged in USB power supply
- Be able to take a myriad of sources, HDMI, DP(for thin clients), VGA(for older servers) DV-I, Mini HDMI (for Pi 0), MicroHDMI (for Pi 4), and mini display port (Why not).
- What is interesting is that it will go through a splitter which will output through the monitor and an HDMI to USB device so you can view from a laptop and do screen captures.
- USB Wired keyboard with integrated touch pad.
Today I purchased two cases from Harbor freight, I initially went to purchase the “Apache 4800 rugged case” but came across a not only cheaper, but maybe better Voyager aluminum case.
Both should work, but the Aluminum case shows a lot of promise.
More later
Finally went to gym, I am beat, I did total 16000+ steps today.
