So I did not advertise it as much but I was gone this weekend attending Linuxfest Northwest
Linuxfest Northwest 2011
It was fun, I even made a presentation on the openfire XMPP chat server.
First class I attended was one on Android programming, apparently I have all the tools (including a real device) to write android programs..
My presentation sucked, I catered to a less technical staff which bored the people that attended, also my VM’s failed to launch and some videos I had crashed. I did test all this the night before, so I thought I was prepared, I guess the IT gods did not approve of me presenting at Linuxfest using a Windows 7 Laptop.
I should have done something like LARD.
Originally it was supposed to by just my older son and I, but when the other kids found out that we were staying at a place with a pool they decided to come. This was the first time I left home unattended for longer than 24 hours since the burglary. I “fortified” the home which added to the time needed for my trip preparation.
The worst news, I ate… a lot… and bad stuff.
But was fun, I enjoyed it, even the experience of presenting at Linuxfest.
Got home, did some pushups and situps.
